WHY TOOTH EXTRACTIONS?
We try to maintain and restore teeth as much as possible, but sometimes tooth extractions are necessary if teeth have extensive decay, bone loss, infection or if teeth are impacted or are retained longer than necessary (retained primary teeth). The procedure for a tooth extraction involves numbing the tooth with local anesthetic prior to loosening and removing the tooth. Sometimes your dentist will surgically remove the tooth and place stitches to aid in healing.
Our dentist will review your xray and teeth and if the extraction is too complicated, we will advise you and refer you to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
